Tricot jersey fabric is a type of warp-knit fabric characterised by its soft, smooth surface on one side and a textured, ribbed appearance on the other. Its construction gives tricot jersey excellent stretch, durability, and run resistance. Perfect for T shirts and tops and childrenswear.

Tricot, the Dutch term for Jersey, comes from the French word for “knit” and refers to a knitting technique, not a specific fabric. This jersey is made with pre-dyed yarns woven into a pattern, unlike regular jersey, which is dyed after knitting. Yarn-dyed fabrics use coloured threads woven together, resulting in a distinct, artisanal look that differs from the printed patterns of piece-dyed fabrics.
